Are the hotels and apartment peacefully situated?

Yes, quieter and more central is hardly possible! A residents only cycle path runs along the Döser Seedeich dyke in front of our establishments, while several gardens separate the back of the hotels and apartment from the next road. So you can definitely open the windows at night!

Are your establishments located centrally?

Yes, you can reach all the main sights and amenities on foot or by bike. You can walk to the Lotsenviertel (Ship’s Pilot District) in approx. 8 minutes. The railway station is an approx. 40-minute walk (10 minutes by car).

How far away are the beach and the North Sea?

To reach the Grünstrand beach and the Bojenbad (separate area of the bay with supervised bathing), simply cross the dyke (approx. 1 minute), while the sandy beach and the Wadden Sea are just a 15-minute stroll away along the dyke.

How far is it to the Heligoland jetty?

You can take the MS Heligoland to the open sea island of Heligoland all year round. It departs from the harbour area. (600 metres beyond the dyke, 3 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by car).

In the summer months, you can take the Halunderjet boat by the Alte Liebe viewing platform (15 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by car).
The ships always depart at 10.30 a.m. on the dot, allowing you to breakfast in peace first.

What are your check-in and check-out times?

You can check in from 11.30 a.m. You may have to wait a few minutes until your room is entirely ready.
Please let us know what time you intend to arrive when making your booking. Late arrival is possible by arrangement.
On the day of your departure, please vacate your room by 10.30 a.m.

Which payment methods are accepted?

It goes without saying that you can pay your room bill in cash, but we also accept Maestro and debit cards or credit cards (Visa, MasterCard).

Do you have internet access?

You can use our WiFi free of charge. Simply access the network VILLA & HUS and accept the GTCs and Data Protection Regulations.

What time is breakfast offered at the hotel?

We serve breakfast daily from 8.30 – 10.00 a.m. If you require an earlier breakfast, please let us know.

Do you have a car park?

4-6 parking spaces are available in front of the hotels. If these are occupied, you can park your car free of charge 50 metres further on in the hotel’s parking bays. The holiday apartments have their own parking spaces.

Are pets allowed?

No, they are not.

Do you have smoking and non-smoking rooms?

All our rooms are non-smoking, and smoking is not permitted in our establishments. We also ask you to refrain from smoking on the balconies of the Villa Caldera. You may smoke on our terrace in summer. Smoking is permitted on the balconies of the Hus Kiek in de See and the Obere Austernbank. Smoking is also not permitted in the Untere Austernbank.

May children share the beds, or is it possible to request extra beds?

No, children may not share your beds and no extra beds can be provided. Children may not stay at our accommodation until they have reached the age of 14.

How high is the visitor’s tax?

In the off-peak season, the visitor’s tax is € 1.80 and in the peak season € 2.60 per day and per person, and we are obliged to charge it. Guests staying with us for professional reasons are exempted from the visitor’s tax.
Peak season for visitor’s tax: 1 May – 31 October; off-peak season: 1 January – 30 April and 1 November – 30 April

Is there a cancellation charge?

Please see our General Terms and Conditions for precise information regarding the cancellation of bookings.  In principle, we recommend that you take out a travel cancellation insurance policy.

Can I rent bicycles locally?

Bicycles can be rented from mietrad.de. Simply visit mietrad.de and order your bike. The main bicycle store – Rad & Tour – is in the Ship’s Pilot District, located on Schillerstraße 43–45, approx. an 8-minute walk from our establishments.

Do you have storage facilities for bicycles?

You can park your bicycles safely right next to our establishments.

Are the hotels and the apartment handicapped accessible?

No, unfortunately not. The houses are over 100 years old and are not equipped for the disabled in several respects. We do not have a lift, for example.
